About Fashion Parade
Since the creation of Fashion Parade (FP), participants and other consumers were (for the first time) allowed to purchase the showcased collections and bridal dresses.
The Fashion Parade was established 4 years ago by Sadia Siddiqui with the sole intention of showcasing the South Asian fashion to a British audience. “I created FP four years ago with the view of promoting Asian designers on a quality platform targeted to an international audience,” reiterates Sadia. Fashion Parade Bride is the most recent addition to the Fashion Bride categories yet it has been very entertaining considering the significant input of Pakistan’s top designers.
The choice of the venue was highly influenced by the nature of this event which sought to integrate the English heritage and Pakistan culture as FP celebrated Pakistan’s 70 years of independence. One Marylebone is among the top historic landmark in London and has been enlisted as a Grade I Building.
Designers showcased Stunning Bridal Collections that graced the catwalk. The event was highlighted by several top notch and fabulous collections done by the best designers from Pakistan. Giving an account of the event Sadia stated that she was in awe to have been given the opportunity to organize the FP event. The opportunity was a way through which Pakistan designers were able to show that they rank amongst the best worldwide.
Showcasing the Blooms of Izmir, Maria B explained that her collection was influenced by her recent trip to Turkey. She revealed that the blend of western and eastern sensibilities and that of nature with architecture really excited her and is what she focused on for building her collection.
Nilofer Shahid’s collection featuring bridal dresses was titled the Journey of Self Realization which transmits an important message of hope to the modern time woman. Explaining about the inspiration behind the collection, Nilofer said, “The clothes will portray the journey of a woman’s life with all its trial and tribulations and how she becomes stronger and finally attains peace and balance.” This collection was very influential to the audience and is said to be one of the most highly sought in TSC for purchase.
Nomi Ansari’s collection was deeply rooted in the rich Pakistan Culture precisely the Sindh heritage. Characterized by a palette of vibrant colour, the collection featured lenghas, embroidered skirts and peplum tops. The collection was complemented by spectacular jewelry designed by Sherzad Rahimtoola. “One of the best attributes of my collection is that there is a lot of personality to each piece and emphasis on gemstones which, to me, is important when making fashion choices,” She explained. It was quit an outstanding and entertaining collection as it received endless applauses from the guests during the catwalk.
Rani Emaan’s collection focused primarily on the integration of occidental and oriental cuts. When asked about the collection, she said, “It will be the personification of the bridal avatar infused in gold with a diverse colour palette of well complementing colours.” The jewelry for this collection was designed and provided by the Red Dot Jewels.
On the other hand, Shamaeel Ansari designed her collection intending to exude feminism. It featured extreme luxury in her ‘Cocktail Collection’ cuts focusing on women who are boldly feminine. This collection received a lot of praises especially from guests affiliated to the media fraternity.
